We are delighted to be chosen for recognition at BAE’s end of year Supplier Event today. The below message was broadcast as part of the event which took place online this morning in true 2020 style in recognition of the Chemical & Consumable system we have implemented at our customer’s facility.

The event took place remotely and involved over 300 representatives from organisations ranging from SMEs to Global Corporations.

“The consumables transformation has delivered a significant improvement to the method of deployment for over 600 different types of glues, paints and personal protective equipment to the operations team. The implementation team selected and collaborated with Spring Solutions to install a point of use Kanban system, which has revolutionised how consumables get to the operator on the shop floor. The supplier has supported in introducing a new on-site store and replace the obsolete third party IT system, as well as producing a pipeline system for the 600 items to guarantee continuity of supply. The number of late purchases has been reduced from 350 to 0 and escalation of late deliveries has reduced from 150 to 2. Both the procurement team and supplier’s efforts have positively strengthened the relationship with our operations customer.”

Marc joined the team this week as a Key Account Manager and will be responsible for the day to day management of Customer Accounts as well as supporting our Logistics Team in delivering a World Class Service to our customers.

Marc joins the company from Santander and is familiar to the team, as he will be with a lot of our customers, having worked together during his time with Fasteq, latterly Wesco Aircraft, where Marc worked his way from Warehouse Operative to Customer Services Representative via nearly every other department on the way.

Interestingly Marc is a twin, not only a twin but a twin who crosses the divide. Marc and his brother Jamie both support rivalling teams from Glasgow’s Old Firm duo Celtic & Rangers, which must make for an interesting Old Firm day in the Grant household.

Meet The Team Part 1 – John Ward…

For the first part of our #MeetTheTeam we have our Company CEO John Ward.

John’s name has been synonymous with Supply Chain Management for longer than he would care to share. After 20 years and various roles John became founding Director of Fasteq, becoming their CEO after May 2000.

Following on from a hugely successful period with Fasteq, where John oversaw the companies rise from a supplier of Commercial & Automotive Fasteners & Consumables to becoming one of the Aerospace & Defence’s leading Supply Chain Management Specialists, John took on the role of MD of HAAS Group UK. After a successful transition period with HAAS, John moved on shortly after HAAS were taken over by Wesco and has since found himself involved in or with several different successful ventures, most notably as CEO of Livingston Football Club who in his time in charge have saw an unprecedented rise from Scottish League 2 to the Scottish Premiership where they currently occupy 5th place in the table.

In his spare time John can be found playing guitar and singing in and around his hometown of Bathgate, or at Livingston Football Club watching on as the Lions continue to defy the odds.

You can reach John on 01506 894458 or
