Key to ensuring that our long-term customer contracts are successful and sustainable is ensuring that the conditions of a potentially volatile market are minimised for our customers. This means ensuring a continuous flow of products, despite lead time and availability changes, and reducing the impact of price changes for our customer.

Our approach

To support this, Spring Solutions operate a Bill of Materials monitoring process, called ‘Spring Clean’. Spring Clean’ is responsible for a quarterly sweep of our entire Product Library including all Strategic Customers’ Bill of Materials.

Spring Clean liaises with Supply Chain to request the most up to date information available on our products.

Information requested includes:

  • Price
  • MOQ
  • Current Lead Time
  • Stockholding
  • Stock in production
  • Stock in distribution
  • Planned Obsolescence
  • Changes in production
  • ITAR status

The information gathered by Spring Clean supports Chemcare in constantly reviewing which procurement method allows us to ensure the most cost effective and timely solution.

We’ll also use this data to issue early warnings on any items which we foresee issues such as force majeure or obsolescence on. Early warning allows us to work with the manufacturer to secure remaining stock, access priority on stock available, secure last time buys, and work with our customers to approve alternatives, where necessary.
